Ready for next semester!

It's a student life in ABAC, assumption university and my last day for payment tution fees. After roaming around in Thailand for my summer holidays, I need to be ready for my next semester. We can take some subjects in summer course, although I did'nt take any subjects, most of my friends did it.
If I can do well during this semester, i am gonna finish all the required subjects and need to continue for some elective courses and be ready for Thesis or master project to finish up my program here.My friend said " it's quite difficult to study Finance Management and Strategic but i take it both of these subjects for this semester. So, sure to concentrate more and need to care more not to waste my time like before.
I,sincerely speaking, wanna get job within this semester. Otherwise, there can be some problems for my future study and it is good to do something instead of doing nothing in day time. One of the men told me that " Oh, you are so smart and I am sure you can do some job, but if you can't get a job or do nothing, then you are good for nothing although you are smart enough" Ah, it is easy to say but in reality, not really easy.
I tried to get a job since last semester and I even went twice for an interview and I realize that it is not really easy for me. Some demands for a position and speaking Thai language is most priority in the company and business field ,as far as I know.
Of course there might be some job without knowing Thai language. Another thing here is that part time job for student is unusual and not popular. But it is still hard and language play the main role in Thailand, since most of them can't speak in English. I don't have to say much about the important of their language and it is all on me to try again and again. But if i know Thai, there are lots of advantages here. Let me do it again.

I am so tired for being strong!

Sometime,I am not strong enough to stand for my own life. I am so tired for being strong but I try to solve all my problems by myself and find ways to overcome all the things. I am not really strong but I try, of course.
Someone thinks that I got angry and another one says " you are so proud of yourself, you don't want to talk to me" ...Sincerely speaking, it is not that way coz I need to think more about my life. It is not a child's play but the real life and so complicated. It is hard. Who is gonna stand with me?
The real color of my life might be worse than this. So, sometime, I try to forget somebody or something. But not really, I don't wanna do that but that's who I am and what my life is. Not really easy days with a thousand of dreams.

That's all for today!

Before the second Mass in Abac, it is around 9:30 am, I would like to meet Bro.Martin for my personal case. So I approach to the Sister and ask how I can meet with him. She warmly says " Ok, I will see him first, wait here, are you Philipino? then I say "No". She enters into the office and after a moment, she calls me " hello, come in " I start by introducing myself to Bro.Martin and continue talking about what I intend to say before. Two ladies and one man are sitting at the table with Bro.Martin. A man is trying to say something to me while I am talking with Bro.Martin.
It is like disturbing our conversation and I feel bad about that man. Sure, he has a right to say something on behalf of Bro.Martin because he is a sacretary. But, as a mature person, he should understand and respect other's right whether a person is old or young. It is so bad to do that.
May be he thinks that he is quite smart to do and fufil his responsibility. But I try to understand for his stupid manner. You know what he says when I finish talking with Bro.Martin, " That's all for today, come back tomorrow morning at 9"
Oh.....that's his conclusion. And I say simply " thanks" to Bro.Martin and that man.

I feel a bit depress on some of my experiences. But I am sure the time will cure and need to prepare for the next time. Doing something without preparing is too bad and difficult to over come. Ellay and CUCT in a CAMP!

5 days and 4 nights in Hau Hin with CUCT Catholic Youth Camp!I just back to Bangkok last night. It was really great and the first time with the university students in a camp. There are 38 Catholic students out of 77 students in a camp. They all are friendly, lovely and funny ha.ha. So that make me to find the real meaning of YOUTH, there is a lovely community life in a camp. First I thought that it will be boring to stay even 5 days in a camp, but I don't wanna come back to Bangkok that I come to know my feeling at the last minutes of the time to say good bye to all my friends. Now I miss them all and hope to see them again in the near future. I hate to go now, but I will write more about my experiences in a camp next time. I have to go to register for the next semester now and say good bye to one of my friends since she is going back to her hometown for holidays and pick up my friend at airport.

The last day for my friend in Bangkok.....

The time to say good bye to my friend" Brang Mai" It is good that he has another plan to go to Philippines. Congratulations! he is one of my best friends and nice guy. I hope he will have lots of chances to study more since he got a big dream. But it is funny sometime ,so careless man, that he doesn't know how to take a taxi to my appartment even. He seems like so smart....ha..ha..but what? He came to my room since this morning, but he got some problems on the way to my appartment in a Taxi. That's he!
Now we are going to prapare something to have fun tonight. I like to do something for my friends to have fun. Although we have many days together, it is sure that we can't stop just one place to do something the same as before. But we need to improve more for our future life with a new step. That's our life to move and learn more and the time will come to meet again to do our best. Never say die!

Good bye Mae Sod....

(14.5.06)-It was raining and the time was 7:00 pm. Every body kept quiet while the man was checking our car ticket in the bus. I saw one man and two girls were standing in the middle and looking for a place to sit. "Hey..! invite one girl to sit beside you" said my friend. Sure I was willing to do that, but I was just observing what they are going to do next. Can you imgine what happened next?
After they were checked their tickets, a girl came and sat beside me and she invited her friend to sit together with her. Actually it was just one seat spare. So I just moved abit out of pity. They seem like friendly but I kept silence untill the immigration officer was coming to check my passport. First I showed student card but he asked me to show my passport, then I did it. I surprised he could speak in Burmese that I came to know when he checked one of my friends' passport. But you know most of the officers couldn't speak in English and it was a problem that another immigration officer came and checked my passport at the second place. They have two places to check all the passengers.
The officer started to ask my name in Thai. I couldn't answer directly although I know that phrase in Thai. After a few second, he asked me again and I told him my name. But It was stupid that he asked me again and again in Thai, so I said " You can't read! you can read from my passport" but he couldn't understand what I was trying to say. And it was the time that a friendly girl beside me was trying to help me. She got a good English and she asked me some questions and replied to the officer on behalf of me. I could say that she is friendly,of course, lovely too.
I wanna say that immigration officer should learn some conversations in English since lots of international people are traveling around Thailand. It is really quite difficult to communicate some body in English in Thailand. But I think at least the officer should know the importance of the language. When the check place was over, I changed my seat with my friend. So I couldn't have a chance anymore to have some conversation with a friendly girl.
The night was over and arrived to Bangkok bus terminal at 4:00 early in the morning. I accompanied to my friend's appartment and took a rest there untill the afternoon and back to my room at 4:00 pm. Although I wanna stay more days, it was the time to say good bye to Mae Sod. Hope to see all my friends from Mae Sod again, and special thanks to the family where we stayed while we were there.

Great Sunday in Mae Sod

It was the second day in Mae Sod. I didn't have time to use internet like in Bangkok. So I can't update my diary everyday. But I had a great experiences on that sunday. Because I visited to the places that I am so interested to visit before I went there. This is the second place that I have been to Thai-Myanmar border area. It made me to feel like in my homeland. I can meet lots of our people there and most of them are working and selling things in the Market. I even could hear the famous singer's songs in Shopping places. We had prayer service at 10 am in the morning with some of our friends from Myanmar. I appreciated so much that they counld sing and led all the prayers in their own language although they are far away from their homeland. I couldn't do like them. After that we had our lunch and started to visit around in the town. We came to back to home around 4:00 pm and prepared for our trip to Bangkok.

The Second place to Border area!

I was at my friend's appartment to get ready early in the morning to go to Mae Sod. We thought that we can buy direct ticket to Mae Sod, so we left at 8:00 am to Northern bus terminal. But we came to know that direct bus will be in the evening. So we bought ticket to Tak and then we had to change when we arrived there. It was 6:00 pm at Tak and we changed our bus to Mae Sod. The weather was a bit cold like winter and we passed a beautiful view on the way to Mae Sod. It took us around 9 hrs to get to Mae Sod almost the whole day. We arrived with safe and sound to the house that I am staying now. Today is our first day here and we visited to Market and the trainning center of YOUTH. Now I am going back to our palace.

Sometime, it is so careless..

Last Tuesday,I had a plan to go with ABAC choir group to Bang Na( another branch of Abac University). It was a good plan before and I even practiced the songs together with them after Sunday Mass. But what happened on that day?Actually, I got up earlier than other days and just relaxed in my room. Then I took a bath and it was a call from my friend and asked me "Will you go with us today?" But a bit surprised, coz I couldn't remember what I had plan before. Then I just asked again" When?"..."Now?" Oh sorry, it is the time already, how can I go, not yet ready for that. So I canceled my plan and said " Sorry, may be next time." ,,, You know, next time means next year. Coz it was the time to celebrate birthday party. I know, sometime I am so careless, even I could not remember the dates or the days......

I was so Excited....

Ah..I saw lots of Elephants when I was young. But never had a chance to ride.It is quite surprise that a small human being can control such a big Elephant. You may say that it is since the history and human being has higher knowledge than Elephant.Sure, but it is still surprise. An Elephant could understand what the Master says and obey it, although big enough.I had a chance to ride an Elephant when I was in Ranong. It was the day that I spent my time with some of my Philipinos and roaming around to the famous places in that Town.I was so excited for the first time but I really enjoyed it later. We visited to Hot-springs and one of the famous lake at the top of the small mountain called( Ranong Canyo) if I am not wrong that name.It was a really nice day in Ranong.

My favorite pictures of the Month

We really enjoyed the day we spent together in the Island of Pattaya.Sometime,it makes me to miss all that experiences. Some of my friends say that"Oh...it's really a big gang,"...some ask me " Are you going to catch a crocodile?" "Ah..it is not really, just to make fun," I used to reply whenever my friends ask me a question or saying all these. It is good to have holidays and a big group of friends.I am sure it will never disappear from our mind what we really enjoyed in our life. And this is my first summer holidays in Thailand with some of my friends.Hope to have more fun and holidays in the next summer........Wish all the best to all my friends.

She is really jealous of me!

I met one of my friends in the school after coming back from my holidays. So I just said "Hi" and ,she said"Oh..it has been a long time that I didn't see you," then I replied" I was in my holidays, just come back,I spent almost three weeks."And we continued our conversation by talking about our classes. Most of my friends are taking summer courses because they would like to finish up all the subjects as soon as possible.I love to do the same. But this is one of my dreams to travel around Thailand and plannig to travel wherever I am.Because I would like to know more about new life, new experiences, new environment and would like to meet new friends.I feel that life is learning process, we can't stop this process. If we stop learning and do the same things what we are doing before,so it doesn't mean that we are learning. The learning process only can change more in our life and give us the real meaning of life.

After a short distance to her class, she said"I really jealous of you, guy.." then I asked" Why?" then she continued by saying this"Coz, you got a lots of time to spend for your holidays and roaming around without studying, for me, I don't have much time to spend like you,I have to study hard." Then I just said" Ah..yes" But in reality,I didn't feel that I was roaming around, but I wanna say,.....It was apart of studying in my life."

This is what I agree to say

If you are in Thailand, you can realize that White people(Farang) are given too much of favour or appreciation. So what is the different between Asian and all these white people?Of course, most of our background are not the same and we all have our own living standard. You know that too much favour will make more discrimination in human society.Really,it effects to the whole community. Most of the people here think that white people are top of the world and they know everything.Especially, you will know when you apply a job.I don't say that all,but most.Today I read some articles on internet and I found that what is happening in Thailand concerning job application in teaching English.I might say that some of native speaker are really good in teaching but remember not all.I met one lady from the US and I asked " Are you teaching here?".Then she said" I don't know how to teach,so I just helping for conversation." Some of Filipinos are saying this"
"I have been to Bangkok a couple of times as a tourist and I am planning to come back to teach but I am very nervous. I have a degree in English Studies but I am afraid that the Bangkok schools will find it lacking. I am a published writer in English but I am afraid that my color will be a problem. I have already taught Koreans for a year but I am afraid that inexperienced Brits or Americans will be considered more qualified than me."

"English is not a white man’s language. I have met Singaporeans who can spell better than my Aussie friends. I have met American teachers who almost piss in their pants after being told that they’d have to take some grammar tests. I hope Thais and schools in Thailand will realize that race or nationality has nothing to do with how qualified a person is in teaching this language."
Dexter.
"Yes, Filipinos are not native speakers and regardless of how we try we will not be (not if we live in an English Speaking country). But WE can teach. Grammar wise, I say we are better than "real farang". Conversation wise, some are as competitive as any "real farang."

Once in Pattaya...(8 April)

You know that I love traveling.Actually,I was planning to travel northern part of Thailand within Song Krang(public holidays) with some of my friends. We planed already but the program was changed. So we made another decision to go to Pattaya just for a day.We left Bangkok around 9:30 am.It took us around 2:00 hrs to get to Pattaya. We visited Tiger Zoo on the way to Pattaya, but it was so expensive. So we just took some photos and kept on our journey. It was my first time to Pattaya(the most famous place for Tourist). But abit surprised. The beach is not so large like others. This was what I thought.Of course not, there are lots of wonderful Islands near Pattaya. So we visited one of the Island there after our lunch. We had a great time there and back in the evening to Pattaya. All our program was to come back after dinner. But I myself and some of my friends wanted to stay to see the night life. So we stayed in a hotel that a bit expensive. Some went back on that night. The night life of Pattaya is good to experience sometime. We were in a group and slept late midnight. We end up our night after eating something.

One night in KOH PHAYAM Island(Ranong)

There are some Islands near Ranong(Southern part of Thailand).Although it is not so crowded place for Tourist, some likes to be in a quiet place like these Islands.I went to KOH PHAYAM Island with one of my friends,it is one of the famous Island for Tourist.I love the place there and most of Bungalows are very nice.I stayed at Mr.Gao's Bungalow. The price is quite cheap but very nice Bungalow. Most of the Bungalows' price are the same.I think most of Tourist are coming for personal reflection or to experience a quiet life.I couldn't see any noisy place there but I saw some strange men(they are in a group-5 to 6 persons). We rent a motorbike for 24 hrs and roaming around the Island.I will never forget the experience I had in that Island. It gave me lots of new strenght and I reflected more about my life.
How to get there
The pier to Payam island is located behind Paknam police station. The ticket fare for the foreigner is 150 bahts for an ordinary boat which will take you 2 hours and another option is the speed boat which will take you haft an hour but the ticket fare is 350 bahts. For Thai tourist is 100 bahts for an ordinary boat and 250 bahts for a speed boat.

Ah...it comes to the last Day in Ranong..

Last night we had a sort of farewell with the community that I stay for almost three weeks.I like the community life and I have good experience here.I met some Burmese people staying legally or ilegally. They really need help, especially for the education of their children in the future. They are not allowed to attend Thai public school because it is a big problem to get another citizenship.Who is responsible for this?Where are they from? We have lots of questions to ask? Why?............There are some NGOs helping for the needy of all these families.OF course,I have to say goodbye to Ranong, but I have a dream to come back here oneday......................
