Au and International Students

Hi All, it has been along time i can't post new things in my blog. Well, second semester for 2006 is even close to mid-term exam by now. As our faculty in Science and Tech, it just finished seminar at one of Pattaya Beach resorts. It's attractive place for tourist in Thailand. Hope that all the fresher students and senior students got a great time there.

I was planning to be with them but i was a way for BKK short days and canceled it. Anyway, I might say that Au got more international students year by years and some are preparing to join to this university. After writing some blogs about Au, i am glad that i can provide some information about Au in a view point of students. That's real life here and real experiences.

Last week,I met a girl at Chulalongkorn University while i was in confrence about migrant workers in Thailand, she said "Au is great, only rich people can attend to that school and they have high education... etc" Then she asked me "How do u think?" ... I said "well, it's not bad" she was surprised with my answer, why? Why i don't say good or great.

I continued by saying this " I think, some of the teachers can't speak english like you, coz Au focus much on local teachers and sometime , it's a problem for international students" Then she just said" Oh, really".... and more..

Well, i can say that's the truth but not all teachers. Come and feel here, then u will know more.... Anyway,, let me share with one email that i got it from one of my blog visitors

ABAC polls in NEWS

People asked to keep monitoring govt’s performance for a while

BANGKOK, Nov 13 (TNA) – The government is ready to
heed people’s opinions and want them to keep monitoring
its duty performance for a while, according to Government
Spokesman Yongyuth Mayalarp.

The popularity of the government led by Gen. Surayud Chulanont
dropped to 55.2 per cent in a poll conducted last week by
Assumption University or ABAC Poll, falling over five
percentage points from last month's 60.9 per cent

The survey was conducted with a random sample of 3,224
people living in Bangkok and 17 provinces nationwide
during November 3 -11 on their feelings toward the
military-installed government.

Capt Dr. Yongyuth said all ministers had already realized
the poll result, but had not yet discussed the issue.

He said the government understood some people might have
negative feelings toward the administration upon hearing of
different political news.

So, it wanted them to closely monitor the government’s
performance on a continual basis.

The government conceded some problems might
take time to be solved while some could be rapidly
tackled as the premier had mentioned.

“Someone may expect the government will be able to cope
with problems sooner. The government heeds their opinions
but wants them to keep monitoring its performance for a
while,” he said. (TNA) – E005

November semesters begin

Well, after all, Octorber holiday is over and new classes are starting for this semester. Although I got 3 weeks of holidays, it was a busy holidays here and have chance to roam around for somedays only.

But it was meaningful for me and a new way to relax with some friends. One night in Ashram gave me a new strength as well. After translation works, we had annual meeting and retreat for 3 days and 2 nights at " Garden of Peace"

Sharing of life with friends is strong strength and one of outlet for students like us. After studying hard with stressful subjects, it was really helpful for a new semester to begin a new subjects in a new semester.

Although our university is famous for international programs, Au got much number of domestic professor and teachers for all the academic programs. For this reason, it's a bit problem for international and exchange students for learning process.

It's a question to ask whether Au has real sense for campus or international program.
